Windows 10 scan options includes several methods to scan documents / images.

What to do?

All (except Paint) do include a "Entire Scan Area" (or similarly named) setting that will scan the entire bed on which the item is placed.  This should keep the item from inadvertently cropping the content.  You will need to open the saved file and then crop the content to your satisfaction after the scan is complete.

HP Scan includes a "Detect Boundaries" / "Auto Detect Size" (or similarly named) option that should clip the boundaries at the edges of the item(s) being scanned from the glass.

In General:

Adjust the settings as  needed to get the scan size as close as possible to the original.

Use the method that best suits your situation.

NOTE:  Two methods are not included in the examples below

Irfanview scan and Twain Scan
