Document feeder suddenly shows an error jam,but nothing is in feeder.followed the troubleshooting steps from HP diagnostics  and the error will not clear

i have fed a manilla file folder through cut in half ,in only goes through if i feed it ,inch or 2 at a time. ,but not able to auto load itself at all.

i have all but torn apart the ADF mechanism,it works when i feed the folder,thicker than paper,but not paper.

error on screen is :

The original document is jammed open the cover remove the original and try to feed another again

i have tried everything recommended on here and nothing has changed it.

Cleaned the rollers,reset it ,even went into the maintenance support and tried the reset.no changes.

750 prints, 55 scans less than a year old..

Perform the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this document to resolve a Paper Jam issue. If the issue persists, Resetting the printer to its factory settings may help.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
