Hi @MrsQ3,

Thanks for getting back to me with that information.

Did you already try to install the printer's software and drivers from hp.com? If you have not try downloading the HP Printer Install Wizard for the installation. This tool will find the most recent version of the printer's software and drivers available for Windows 10.

If you have already installed the printer's software, try downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software issues.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks.

Hi @MrsQ3,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums with your inquiry.

I understand that when you try to scan win your HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One Printer you get a message saying the USB port is not installed. I would like to help with that.

Before I can suggest any kind of solution, it may help me to know if you are using an Apple or Windows computer, and what operating system it is running.

I will watch for your reply so I can look further into this for you. Please reply at your convenience.

Thanks.

Originally, it was with Windows or Vista. We have a new PC and we have Windows 10. I'm thinking it's the printer and it's not a new one.
