Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

PHOTOSMART 7520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In Windows 10 the HP Scan changed and there is no longer an option to scan a double-sided document. I'm  using the HP Smart app -- which is not so smart after all. How can I scan a double-sided document?

@NealW408,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I checked the specifications of your printer and see that this printer doesn’t support automatic duplexing, so you need to manually flip the document and click on the plus sign to scan the other side.

Please refer to the below link for the product specifications.

Please refer to the below article for using HP smart app.

Thanks for your reply. That will work for a single sheet. How does the printer know if there are multiple pages? There used to be a selection for that in Windows 7.

@NealW408,

I would like to inform you that the option you are referring to is available only on the full feature printer driver. Since you are using the HP smart app that option is not available.

I recommend you install the full feature software from the below link and check.
