Hi as above am trying to set up Chromecast. Try to download Google home app to laptop but it wants to use my phone which is only a phone. When I tried to cast it searches for devices, cant find any and stops. Is there some way to do this. Sorry I am not tech savvy, Aquarius

I understand that you are unable to connect Chromecast to the laptop.

 

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

 

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  
Please install the google chrome cast from this YouTube link and check if it works. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4V4BTBgqH8

Please do not click on any website, ad, download or image as the link is a third party link. It is only for viewing it and following the on-screen instructions.

 

If this does not work, and your TV supports Miracast, then please try this link to project the screen of your computer to your TV HP Desktop and Notebook PCs - Sharing your Screen Using Miracast (Windows)  http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04228016
