Officejet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I notice that when I scan or copy using the document feeder (ADF), a dark line appears about an inch from the left margin of the reproduced image. I tried cleaning the small glass window that the ADF uses, and even tried cleaning the rollers. But i still get the streak.

Any recommendations?

Thank you,

Only that you take another look at the ADF glass - the tiniest "bit" on the glass or even an itty-bitty "something" wedged in the edge of the glass can cause this after-streaking.

Use a flashlight (torch in the UK); shine the light at an angle along the glass.

Clean, clean, clean.

Use a tiny brush to sweep all along the edges of the glass.

 Improving Scan Quality

Thank you for that advice. Using the flashlight from my phone i noticed a speck of dirt. Cleaning that fixed the problem.
