Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Solution Center
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When I turn on the new windows 10 controlled folder access feature (W10 security centre) I can no longer save a scan pdf file.

Saving the file returns one of those useless windows error codes.

Windows allows you to add program permissions to access the protected folders but is no use at helping you find which program isn't being allowed to make the changes. In this case its whatever is saving the pdf file produced as a result of the scanning process resulted in an error.

Does anyone know which .exe HP file needs to be added to the windows security access permissions to allow the solution center to save a pdf?

Found at the time the file access is blocked there is a message in the notifications section (bottom right of W10 desktop)

If you notice this notification and expand it the file causing the issue is identified and its a fairly simple step to add this file to the windows security section. Once the file is added the scans are saved to the documents folder as before.

Hope this helps.Notifications controlled access folders.jpg

@iceman2

That is a Windows 10 feature, not HP machine. Please read the following article

OK. So the name of the program making the change is identified in the events log. I'll check it out. Thanks.

It would have been nicer if microsoft asked if the event should be allowed at the time it was denied without digging through logs.
