HP OFFICEJET 6600 E-ALL-IN-ONE
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I am not able to scan or copy from my printer.  I have reinstalled software and drivers but to no avail.  When I try to copy I get this round HP circle and it says "starting copy" which runs for hours and hours but no copying.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Have you tried to switch off and then swit on the printer?  Try connecting the printer directly to the wall power socket rather than any extension (if you are using)

Once the printer is switched on,  try a copy job.

If it is still showing Copying and the scanner is not moving, it may indicate that the scanner is defective.

Likewise, if you try scanning from the HP software and it is not scanning (scanner doesn't move), then it's another indication that the scanner is defective.

Perhaps it's time to get a new printer?  The printer is a fairly old model.

Hope that helps!
