Every time I want to print something, I have to call HP to get online.  Sometimes, it takes an HP rep over an hour to get this done.  I’m also on the ink program and I have to print out a direct PIN number which counts towards the paper count.  I’m just so tired of having to be on hold and then talking to a rep, giving them access to my printer.  It takes time and after I’ve worked all day, I just dread it.  It’s just too much time and stress to print out one sheet of paper.  Can anybody tell me how I can keep my printer online?

things were looking up until 2:04 into the video.  Under the 'properties' category, nothing is X'd and the buttons 'add port', 'change port' and 'configure port' are subdued in color:  clicking on them doesn't do anything.

Hi @bacardistuff

Doesn't seemed that the printer is connected to the network.

Can you try this to reset wireless to defaults for the printer, then download and install the HP Smart app from the Windows Store?

Example to reset the wireless:

After resetting the wireless, please install the HP Smart app, ensure you sign into the Instant ink account.

Hope that helps!

okay, I'm back on the network (thank you).  I went back to the original video to create a port.  This time, I got stuck on 2:46 seconds.  I typed in the IP address to create a port, made my way through the wizard and got this error: 2020-07-13.png

Hi @bacardistuff

Were you able to "Click Next" at the screen you show and create the TCP/IP port?

Thanks.

I'll get back to that point.  I'm off network again.  One moment.

I set up the network.  port page remains light grey as if the  network isn't set.  wifi button is blinking.  Everytime I have to print something out, I will need to go through these steps, right?

I called HP and they want me to pay$49 to talk to some software dude.  Like really?   I've had this printer since March.   I have had the exact same case number for months now and all of a sudden, I have to pay somebody $49 every week to help me print out one page?  I don't think so.  I seriously think that guy said that with a straight face.  There has to be a way to complain about this crap.
