Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

scans are light but copies and print are fine.

If copies are fine, then it is likely a setting issue. Take a look at scanning settings as they can have a dramatic affect on scan quality. Resolution, file size and document type will all change the output and how your scans look. For instance, if you tell the system you are scanning a text document instead of a photography it will provide a much darker scan because the system then scans more as a monochrome document, whereas scanning a photography is designed for shading and therefore more like gray scale than black and white.
