I have uninstalled all software on printer and Mac and reinstalled. When I ran a test scan from the HP EasySetup, it worked once. With HP Utility or HP EasyScan i get the error message every time. All printer functions work fine and the ADF works fine when I load it.

HP Easy Start is not currently supported on Catalina, please use Image Capture as a workaround:
