Unless you dug the computer out of a time vault, it is unlikely you have a new computer running XP .

Assuming this is not the case,

Scan to Email is explained in the User Guide - Chapter 2, page 18

AND

How to Scan (Windows)

Things to know:

If your printer is on the network, the setup process can perhaps be completed using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) .

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Network > Scan to Email > Scan to Email Setup

Reminders:

Scan to Email requires your setup (scan to email address / profile) be connected to an email address that does not include (require) two-step verification.  It is reported that should two-step verification be deemed necessary for your email, you may be able to use the address as long as you have set up the "apps password" bypass on that email at the email's service support site.  (I have not tested this - I am passing along what I have been told.)

Email service accessed on a "website" is not at all the same thing as having an installed email program on your computer.  Installed email programs on the computer are explained in the how-to document.  For example, an installed email program on the computer might be "Outlook", "Mozilla Thunderbird", or "Windows Mail".  If you log into your email from your browser, this is not an "installed email software" on the computer.

Once you have created your Scan to Email profile, you can later edit that profile including the password used to access the account.
