HP OfficeJet 5230 All-in-One PCL-3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to scan multiple photos in one step from the Flatbed automatically cropped. No success with the latest HP Smart.

The HPScanExt.msi was suggested as an answer for a similar question, but I would prefer not to install it just for a "maybe it can help", I don't know how it works together with the present SW.

Does anybody has a positive experience with it scanning multiple photos in one step from the Flatbed automatically cropped ? Or another solution ?

Thank You in advance

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  Apologies for jumping in here.

Try using the HP FULL  featured software.

This example shows how it's done.  Photos are scanned and autocropped.

If you need help to install the FULL featured software, this resource will be useful.

Use this link for your printer:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-5200-all-in-one-printer-series/1409573...

Download from Software - Utility the "HP OfficeJet 5200 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories"

Once you download and install the HP FULL featured software, you will be able to scan and  autocrop the photos.

Hope that helps!

There is no option to scan multiple pages at one step by cropping.

How ever, when you are using HP smart app to scan you can add the page to same scan job and scan multiple pages into one file.

Refer this HP document for the steps:- Click here

I hope that helps.

Hello Sandytechy20,

thank you the fast answer, even if your answer is definitely not an acceptable solution.

The printer software is there to help the user with automating the dull time-consuming work,
not to let him/her force to do something with much more post-processing effort.

Esp. if the older SW versions had this functionality.
