Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended
Dell Inspiron 3471
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot scan to my computer with my HP OfficeJet 4652 All-in-One Printer.   I found instructions to open the software to bring up Printer Assistant but that is not the screen that opens and it has no option to "Manage Scan to Computer" to enable it.

The scan doctor software flagged the driver said it was unable to communicate with the product.  I downloaded driver and Firmware update but they open but do not run.

one solution said to uninstall and reinstall the software but to download the HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer series full feature software first, but I cannot find it.  It has a wrench symbol by the Windows (WIA) Scan and stopped at HP Twain Scan.

I have tried all sorts of things that the virtual assistant suggested and nothing worked.

I think this is the first time i tried to scan to this new computer, the old one was a Dell as well as this one.  I don't think I have the same software as when I first got the printer.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
From the search bar type CMD, right-click on Command-Line, and select Run as Administrator, be sure to confirm any prompt by pressing Yes.

Past the following command and press enter:

Sc config stisvc depend= rpcss/ShellHWDetection

Now restart your computer and try scanning, may you see any difference?

If the issue persists, is the printer connected via USB or through the network?

The Manage Scan to Computer option should only appear for a network-conencted printer, not for a USB connection.

That did not work.  I am connected by wireless.

I got the message on the printer "Make sure that the scanning software has been installed and configured on your computer, and then try again."

on the software I got the following:

mapper09_0-1591921483062.png

It is powered on.  I it is connected to the network and the network is functioning properly.

I cannot verify that the scan feature is enabled.

I also redid the IP address.

I could not find anything about the firewall at www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting
