cm1017mfp unable to get the scan function up and running

CM1017MFP (Product# CB395A - firmware version 20120927 ) connected via USB to HPZ230 running Windows10 pro up-to-date; installed driver :  HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit) version : 6.8.0.24296.

Unable to scan.

- From the printer console, error message : "not set up on PC"

 - From Microsoft Scan : No scanner installed

Using HP Doctor, a message : get the INSTALLER bur the link is broken, landing on a Error Page.

The procedure "turn on / off ", plug the USB cable has been run to no avail

Search for a "HP Solution Center" from the good old  WinXP time or some  more recent equivalent   but could not find anything on the HP site. Tried HPEasyStart no success

I'll be grateful for all your help
