According to the BCU release notes,  BCU version 3.0.3.1 and higher does not support XP systems that have set the BIOS setup password.

If you want to set/modify the setup password  or change the BIOS settings with current setup password on XP system,  try to use BCU version 2.60.13.1. This version supports clear text password.

The release notes can be found at

Look in the table for BIOS Configuration Utility under "BIOS Tools" category.  The  "Notes" icon is next to sp68876.

Thanks.
