Touch Screen/Keyboard input random ghost clicking

Product: HP Pro Tablet 10EE G1

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I recently had a n HP Pro Tablet 10EE G1 in July 2016 and within one week of usage the touch screen functionality stopped working. After 2 weeks the the entire input system was malfunctioning including the key board. The tablet behaves as if something was clicking it randomly even without the touch screen responding to external human touch. Initially hardware diagnostics showed improperly installed I2C Device Driver.

Is it a damage to hardware ??

is it a software or driver issue ??

or a corrupted operating system??
