Dear Technical Support,

I am writing to seek your assistance with an issue that I am experiencing with my HP 2530-24G J9776A network switch. I am encountering an issue with the OS, and I am hoping that you could provide me with a solution to resolve this problem.

Upon starting up the switch, I am presented with the following error message:

"Error, /cfa0/boot.ini corrupted; please reboot to console and repair.
Could not open Image file
Bad code in FLASH
Flash memory needs reprogramming or chassis could be faulty."

I have checked the ROM information, and it is as follows:
ROM information:
Build directory: /ws/swbuildm/rel_lakesrom_qaoff/rom/build/lakesrom(swbuildm_rel_lakesrom_qaoff_rel_lakesrom)
Build date: Aug 20 2017
Build time: 22:15:54
Build version: YA.15.20
Build number: 10016

I have also tried restarting the switch, but the error message persists. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a solution to this issue.

I would like to know if there is any procedure that I can perform to reprogram the flash memory or if I need to replace the chassis. Additionally, I would like to know if I can use a PC as the console and perform the update procedure by serial Xmodem download of the current Switch Image.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with any guidance on how to resolve this issue. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi:

 

HP split into two companies back in 2014.

 

HP supports PC's, printers, tablets and calculators.

 

HP Enterprise (HPE) supports servers, switches, routers and tape storage.

I don't know a thing about servers, switches, etc, and this is the wrong forum for questions like yours.
