Hi I take photos on a high resolution DSLR. When I got to view them on my HP laptop. They originally look as they had appeared on the camera screen, after about 30seconds the photos become over exposed and show a lot of noise. I’m not sure what the issue is or how to resolve it

  • Color Calibration: Ensure that your laptop display is properly calibrated. Sometimes, the default display settings on laptops may not accurately represent colors and tones, leading to discrepancies between what you see on your camera screen and the laptop display.
  • Viewing Software: Make sure you are using a reliable and color-managed photo viewing software. Sometimes, the default photo viewer on a computer may not handle color profiles correctly, leading to inaccurate representations of the images.
  • Monitor Settings: Check the brightness and contrast settings on your laptop monitor. If your monitor is set too bright or too dark, it can affect how images appear. Adjust the settings to see if it improves the consistency between your camera and laptop display.
  • RAW vs. JPEG: If you are shooting in RAW format on your DSLR, the camera might be applying some initial processing that looks different from the raw data when viewed on your laptop. Ensure that you have the necessary software or codecs to view RAW images properly.
  • Driver Updates: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause display issues.
  • Color Profile: Check if both your camera and laptop are using the same color profile. Mismatched color profiles can result in variations in color and exposure.
  • External Display: If you are using an external display, check if the issue persists when using the laptop's built-in display. This can help identify if the problem is specific to the external monitor.
