Product: Hp sprocket studio printer

I bought my daughter this printer for Christmas and she's only been able to print 2 photos.  The first cartridge was torn when I removed it and now it keeps saying that the paper is jammed when it isn't. It's saying there's more than 1 page stuck when I only put 1 pages in total. What is wrong with this thing and how do i fix it??? Please help!!
