Product: HP 24mh 23.8-inch Display

for several months it would take 40-50 mouse taps to wake hp24mh monitor , now nothing woerks

AND THERE IS NO MONITOR BOARD

I turn monitor on and it says hdmi inactive and goes to sleep

 

I have 12 days of warranty left but HP says dealing with my  macbook air is "out of scope" (nothing about ths being a windows monitore in sales materials or operating instrutions) and they won't work on it unless I buy insurance.
