i had the exact same - my phone phone the bluetooth connection immediately, has not found it since....all software and firmware are up to date....no other devices are finding a bluetooth signal from the printer....

Add example iOS - Initial connection to network Bluetooth and Location Services

Only a few printers actually support Bluetooth as a permanent connection method.

Many connection setup methods, including those to a Mobile Device (tablet / phone) use Bluetooth and Location Services on your Mobile device to make the initial connection (just prior to connecting via Wireless).

This means both Bluetooth and Location services must be switched on .

HP Smart should be listed / allowed to access your local network.

Example iOS

Settings > Privacy and Security > Location Services

Settings > Privacy and Security > Local Network
