Hi Community, 

 

I recently purchased a 2nd monitor after having the 2 screen setup for so long but felt that getting two monitors instead of the monitor and laptop combination would be better from a production standpoint. I have read online that alot of issues have popped up with Windows 10 and 2 monitors working. I also read about making sure that your graphic card can handle multiple monitors but I can't find any information as to what my graphic card is and how to know whether it can support multiple monitors. I have purchased a USB to HDMI adapter as well as USB C to HUB HDMI and still nothing and not sure if I am running out of options but I need help.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the HDMI issue.

 

Let's try these steps -


1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, expand Display Adapter. 
3) Right-click on the Display Adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer. 

 

Download and install the BIOS, Chipset drivers from this link.

Hi Asmita,

 

I have tried the mentioned steps and still no luck. I am thinking that my laptop does not have the USB out to support the HDMI to be an option as well as the USB C port also having the same limitations. 

 

I was wondering if I found an HDMI splitter that supported an extended screen instead of a mirror option. Let me know if this would be my best course of action.

We need two independent video channels to power the two monitors. The HDMI splitter replicates the channel through a hardware splitter.

 

You may try a USB-to-VGA adapter or a USB-to-HDMI adapter.
