Battery replacement

HP Recommended
HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've been using this HP laptop for 2 years, and it seems like the battery has a problem.

Even when plugged into a charger, it would be charged (plugged in, not charging) and now only 6% is remaining.

Can this issue be resolved by replacing a battery?

If so, how can I find out the type of battery for this laptop?

My laptop model is HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13, and the serial number is [Personal Information Removed]
.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi @lsa6146,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged and you are getting plugged in not charging message.

I’d love to help!

Follow below steps to fix this issue.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed. If the issue persists, I recommend you to update the bios from the below link and test.
