@DANNY3X3

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that you have a Compaq Presario CQ57 series laptop and would like to perform a system recovery it restore the laptop to its original factory condition.

Here is a link which explains various ways to perform a system recovery in Win7: http://bit.ly/2CHXvuJ. In cases, where the laptop does not boot to Windows, you may follow the steps mentioned in "Steps to follow for Recovery from the startup screen (during system boot) OR when unable to boot to login in screen ".

Please note that as long as the hard drive is good, the system recovery can be initiated from the laptop itself. Else, if the hard drive has gone bad then you need to contact our HP phone support to check for the availability of the recovery media.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any further questions. Cheers! 🙂
