Elite X2 1011 pen and hibernation

My Stylus pen will go to sleep when my tablet hibernates.  It will not come back on with the tablet.  The only way to get it working again is to either reboot the tablet or reinstall, rollback, or update the drivers.  I also am running the 7.3.1.5 drivers and if I update to the latest driver my pen will not run at all.  Anyone run into this?  Has anyone found a workaround/fix?  I saw some suggestions online about making the service restart on error but that did not work either.
