Product: Elite pad serial # [edited]

Tablet scanner recently become intermittent. Scanner will come on for a few seconds, then goes off and will not work at all. This is a very important work tablet. However my tech guys just want me to send it in. I'm thinking just a setting? Can anyone tell me how to access and change the scanner settings?
