HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hey all. i am unable to cast to my chromecast (2nd gen) using my HP ENVY x360 - m6-aq103dx. i can, however, cast just fine using my iphone as well as google home mini.

yes, i am on the same network, etc, etc. in fact, i went through the ENTIRE SETUP of the chromecast using the envy laptop. the chromecast and the google home mini even show up under Remote Target when i do chrome://inspect, but they do NOT show up as destinations when i try to cast. really strange.

i have walked through EVERY STEP POSSIBLE with chromecast support (all the way up the chain) to no avail. we reset the chromecast, shut off all antivirus and firewall on the laptop, gave separate names on the router for the 2.4 and 5 wifi, etc. i even turned off the laptop's wifi and used a micro usb 5ghz adapter to connect. still no love.

any thoughts or brilliant ideas?? i would be so grateful! this thing has become my white whale. just call me ishmael.

peace!
