HP MIxed Reality Headset will not work with the HP OMEN - HELP
10-27-2017 10:41 AM

Hi
I am representing the HP mixed reality Headset in the UK by giving demonstrations.
However I have had no luck with getting it to work. The software for the system is installed and loads, uptill the last point where I get a screen that reads as follows;
"Something went wrong and we couldn't start Windows Mixed Reality - We're not sure what's up here, but this error code shoud help: S0012361-101"
Ultimately I need it to work so that i can sell some headsets!
I'm not sure where to even being to think where the problem might be?
Is it a faulty Headset? Is the laptop have anything to do with iy? (HP OMEN) Is there Issues with Microsofts end of it?
Is there issues with the store policy?
Thanks guys, any help is welcome 🙂

Hi @ricord45,
Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding issues with connecting Mixed reality headsets connecting to the Omen computer. I will be glad to assist you here.
Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require information regarding this:
- Are you using a Dongle or adapter to connect it to the computer?
- Did you try a different headset?
For now please try these steps:
- To ensure that the headset works properly, connect the headset directly to a USB or HDMI port on the computer, tablet, or other device being used.
- Restart the computer first.
- Then refer to this link: http://hp.care/2zYlFA0 on how to connect it.
- This should do the trick for you
- Also, try a different headset and check again.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a terrific week ahead. 🙂

Exact same problem. Slightly different hardware.
OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0xxx
HP Windows Mixed Reality 1440*2 Spatial Computing Headset, Product # 2HU34AA#ABA
The solution provided does not work. If all USB ports on the OMEN are actually USB hubs or the OS thinks they are,
then the headset (according to the help suggested) will not work.
Is there some other solution that will work?
