HP Mixed Reality Headset
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The new HP Mixed Reality headset does NOT work with Microsoft Surface computers.

The headset has an HDMI connector, while the Surface line have only mini Displayports.  With an adapter cable used, the display on the headset never becomes active.

This was tried on (2) Surface Studio machines, each with the 950 nvidia card, and also on their flagship SurfaceBook with the i7 and gpu. It was tried with different adapter cables. Tried here, and at a Microsoft store under their supervision.

The headset functions on HDMI equiped PCs, but not the Surfaces.

Since I bought it for my Surface Studio after a CHAT asking Microsoft if it would work, I expected it to do so. It does not.

Microsoft will offer no refund.  HP does not offer support.

It's a mess.  A MESS!

Someone should care. It's your new product and we can't develop on it!

I am having the same problem. I upgraded the gpu driver on the STUDIO, and can use an adapter... But I get very spotty video for no more than 2 minutes.

Have you found any workarounds?

I have no problem running windows mixed reality on my surface pro 2017 i7 obviously with intergrated graphics, the fps isn’t like my game pc but it’s absolutely playable

Just buy a mini display port to HDMI adapter
