Hp Stream -14
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello ,

I have a purple hp stream 14 laptop that I am giving away to someone else so I am trying to hard reset it and wipe off all of my data and information. While resetting the computer it always stops at around 46-49% and gives me an error saying that no changes where made to my computer. I'mnot understanding why it's doing this. When I click cancel it brings me to a black screen and nothing else happens. I sit and turn it off and on and try the whole process again. This is my fourth time trying to reset the laptop. Please help

@dleb0803

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you would like to reset your Hp Stream -14 series laptop. I read that the process stops at 46-49%. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

I suggest you to have all external devices disconnected from the laptop except the charger and then try to initiate the reset process.

If the laptop is somehow booting into Windows then let us perform a push button reset: http://bit.ly/2wZt68L

If the laptop does not boot to Windows then please perform the steps in the below order to reinstall Windows 10: http://bit.ly/2zn6KlF

  • Disabling secure boot.
  • Recovery when Windows 10 does not start correctly.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know how it goes. All the best! 🙂

I have an HP Stream 14 that will not complete a factory reset. It gets to a certain percentage and then stops and gives an error message that the reset encountered a problem and no changes have been made. Help!!
