Android 8.0 Oreo and older

what Android  OS can I use to update android 5.0.1 which has some system files acting up. Don't want to loose data or mess any thing else up

There's an open-source gathering, Android, that ostensibly is independent from Google and has all the significant players taking an interest in it. They're all allowed to take the center of Android and do with it what they will (sensibly speaking). Some of them apply minor customizations that are anything but difficult to move from form to adaptation, some stuff that is a lot harder. Some of the time (regularly), there is decreasing an incentive for a maker to experience such exertion, particularly on more seasoned telephones. What's more, on head of every one of that, transporters for the most part need to confirm each one of those updates won't play with their systems, easing back the procedure down further.
