Instant Ink Cartridges Error

HP Recommended
HP Envy 5020

I have recently installed two new Instant Ink Cartridges - now everytime I go to print the following error message comes up on the printer "Remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge making sure it is correctly installed"

I have removed and reinstalled both cartridges and the error message keeps on appearing.

How can I resolve this issue ? The printer is only 2 months old and still under warranty.

Thanks

Hi! @npm123, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you are getting remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge error on your printer.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?

Have you installed full feature printer software on your PC?

Have you tried printing from a different application?

Have you tried printing using a different ink cartridge?

Splendid analysis and remarkable patience shown. It is immensely appreciated.

It's sound like an ink cartridge issue check the ink levels on your printer and replace the low, empty or faulty ink cartridges.

Try updating the printer firmware and check if it helps.

Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here

Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges.

The printer might display an error if the ink cartridges are not correctly installed. Remove the ink cartridges, check them for any plastic tape, reinstall the ink cartridges, and then try to print again.

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Load plain paper into the input tray.

  3. Gently grasp the handles on either side of the printer, and then raise the ink cartridge access door until it locks into place.

The carriage moves slightly to the left.

  4. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  5. Lift up the lid on the ink cartridge slot, and then pull up on the ink cartridge to remove it from the slot.
