HP Spectre 13 ac010ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased a HP spectre for myself and my University studies, particularly for the benefits of being able to use the device in tablet mode aswell as laptop mode. However, when I place the laptop in tablet mode I cant seem to type at all, I expected that the actual keyboard would be disabled but I was really hoping that a touch keyboard would appear in tablet mode. Is this possible? Its a little hard to use tablet mode if I have to keep flipping just to use the keyboard.

@ktg123,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the touch keyboard is not popping up in tablet mode.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you right click on the taskbar and in the pop-up window click on show touch keyboard button and put a checkmark next to it.

If the issue persists, please check the following keyboard settings.

  1. Click Start Menu.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click Devices.
  4. Click Typing.
  5. Then click on Automatically show the keyboard.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If the solution provided helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. Your feedback counts!

Take care.

Cheers!
