Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The Slate7 2801 comes with 16GB of internal memory, some of which is used by the Android OS (around 1 GB).

If you have only 1GB left available then you will need to delete apps, or move media to an SD card from internal storage.

Note: apps cannot be moved to a card, but pictures and videos can easily be transferred using a File Manager app.

As a top contributor to the HP Consumer Support Forums, HP provides me access to the HP Slate 7 Plus at no charge so I may better respond to the questions raised on the Forum.

You are correct. The HP Slate 7 2801 is delivered with 1 GB of internal memory and it cannot be upgraded.

You can add up to a 32 GB micro SD media card to make it available for storage.

Are you asking about "storage memory" or working RAM?

As erico has pointed out, the RAM is limited to 1 gig, but storage is larger and extra becomes available with the addition of a memory card.

Hi, what version of the OS are you running?

Go to - Settings, About Tablet, and look at "build number" at the bottom.

the current version available is 1.05.14

if your version is lower than that, please use this link to download for Slate 7 2800/2801

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-128604-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

Please try that and let us know.

On my tablet, after this update, it should show around 5.8GB for internal storage.

I have the same issue on my slate 7.

After a factory reset, total storage is shown ad 0.98 GB and available storage 632 mb!!!

Mine is a slate 7 2800 which is supposed to have 8 GB built-in storage.

While typically about 2 GB is used by the OS;  balance should be available.

If less than 1gb is available, then is the is using 7 GB of storage ?

Clarification is apprecited .

Rgds

I have exactly the same problem as well, my slate 7 has just been sent away for repair, when it came back only showing .98gb internal memory even once I factory reset it again.

Please help, otherwise back the shop it goes.
