hp x2 210
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to clear the power on password.

My halt code is : 4F872BE2

How do I prevent it from happening again?  Or turn on the power on password altogether?

Thanks!

@pmyoung

That is a HEX halt code and we do not have a master pass code generator for that type of code “YET.”

You will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to create your Master Password from that System Disable Code.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

Appreciate the reply, but be it phone or chat, they are bound and determined to 'take my machine in for paid service'.  It ain't happening!  I'll make it a coaster before I send it to them and pay another cent for this thing.  If you have any other ideas, I'm game.  If not, when do you think a master pass code generator for hex codes will be available?

What was the reply from HP ???

Did they want to replace the system board ???

We need to 'take your machine in for paid service'.

They didn't mention system boards or anything of the like.

My machine works fine, I just need the code to unlock the BIOS.

"Sorry sir, we need to take your machine in for paid service."

Couldn't, or at least didn't, tell me why or what was broken, only that I needed to pay them to fix it.
