t800 keyboard
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried to pair keyboard, (T 800), go through proper steps to pair and the tablet asks for a pin #.  I would think the tablet would provide a pin # and not ask for one.

Hi @LM367,

Good Day.  Thank you for posting your query in the HP community.  I read the post regarding issues with pairing the keyboard with the tablet as it asks for a pin. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and spectacular troubleshooting and commendable diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you try to check if it pairs with any other device?

For now please check this link: http://hp.care/2CU6qJ8 which has worked for other forum customers.

  • Follow instructions on it and it should do the trick for you.
  • Also, the instruction manual of the keyboard should have a default pin. This should work for you.
  • Please check the instruction manual also. (It is normally 0000.
  • Also check this YouTube video http://hp.care/2CSrbFa on how to pair an HP Bluetooth keyboard with a tablet running Windows,
  • Although it is for T1000 the steps are relevant for this model also.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

Cheers!
