Please help! I have been searching for an answer to this issue for over a year. When my laptop goes into sleep mode or hibernation, I am not able to wake it back up using the keyboard or mouse. It requires a hard restart to get it working again. Originally, using hibernation mode worked but sleep didn’t, but now neither do. Every time I walk away from my computer I end up losing work because it needs to be restarted.

I have tried everything from updating all my drivers, to making sure my power options are selected for my mouse and keyboard, to disabling the usb root hub automatic turn off, and updating my bios. It really is infuriating as I’ve tried calling HP and they have not been able to help.

Any advice you could give this already struggling PhD student would be greatly appreciated!
