Solved!

Lost Calendar and Address Book off Desktop

HP Recommended

I have the Palm T/X and sync it with Desktop by Access 6.2.2 which I have used for a long time.  Today my calendar, address book and tasks disappeared off of my screen.  The data is still there and I can hotsync with it, but the calendar overlay is gone!  Only have Media and install as an icon on the side.  I have repaired, modified and unistalled and reinstalled it, to no avail.  When I hotsync the palm T/X with another computer all the information is there.  It also appears on the T/X itself.  Help!

Try right-clicking on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, then choose "Run As Administrator".

Great fix!  How do you get it to "stick" so that you don't have to keep rightclicking the shortcut each time?

palmman999,

To Run as Administrator every time:

Right Click on Palm Desktop Shortcut

Click Properties/Compatibility

In the Privilege Level area  Check Run this Program as Administrator, Click OK .

Thanks for help in getting my Palm Desktop running in Windows 8.

Just one thing, now that I have set Privelege Level to run as admin: everytime I start the program I get a User Account Control pop-up. Is there any way to avoid this for the Palm Desktop program?

agrahamc,

I have UAC turned off on my Vista PC
and set to Never Notify me on Win 7 PC.

Google: set UAC (User account Control) to Never Notify me in Windows 8

Great tip!  Is there any way to keep the "Run as Administrator" setting?
