Operating System: Android 8.0 Oreo and older

Hello,

 

My grandparents' HP Slate 21 doesn't start. So first thing I did was turn on ADB and Fastboot in an attempt to flash something into it.

 

Here's the issue: Fastboot doesn't recognize the device. If I go to recovery, ADB doesn't recognize the device when in Fastboot Mode. If I  go to rrcovery and click on "Update with ADB". It recognizes it, but 'adb reboot bootloader' does not work and 'adb sideload filename.zip' aborts due to verification issues.

 

My drivers, cables, software are all in order. I have tried multiple USB ports, drivers, PCs and softwares.
