Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Just acquired a HP Z4 G4 with following specs:

  • i7 7820X 
  • 32 GB RAM - 2666 MHz
  • Quadro P2000 5GB GDDR5
  • 500 GB M.2
  • 250 GB Z Turbo Drive (ZTD) G2 PCIe Card

Please check attached Block Diagram for reference.

 

Usage: Migrating from FHD to 4K Video Editing, No heavy FX, Max 3-4 Video Tracks, Some Text Titles.

Davinci Resolve, Photoshop, May be Adobe After Effects in the future.

 

Need help with the following:

  1. Processor Upgrade? Which one?
  2. GPU Upgrade? Which one? (not the most expensive one please, but should handle 4k editing)
  3. Which PCI slot should I use for 256 GB ZTD G2 PCIe Card? Slot 3 or Slot 5?
  4. Do I need more RAM?
  5. Do I need RAID (with mechanical drives)
  6. Any Advice / Recommendation on optimal BIOS Settings?
