Z240 Tower Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am planning to install an NVIDIA 1070 Ti Card on my HP Z240 Tower workstation.

Although its not listed on the cards, and NVIDIA says minimum power requirements are 500W for the system,

I see that the card itself takes 180W under absolute "torture" according to this link:

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-8gb,5311-16.html

My PC under busiest takes 162W/115V acc to the quick specs (See page 21):  http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04760707.pdf

The total 160+180 = 240, which is less than 400 (discounting rare potential spikes to 290W, which may push the system to 450W)

Also, the system Z240 is tested against other 150W rated cards such as Quadro M4000 (https://www.nvidia.com/content/quadro/pdf/quadro-power-guidelines.pdf).

Does this 30W make much of a difference? I'll be doing deep learning with this PC.

Thank you!

(1070Ti is rated at 180W) : see https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1070-ti/
