I manually back up to one of my LaCie Quadra USB3 drives every Friday for the last couple of years. Plugged in to one of the front USB ports last week on my HP Desktop and got the blue screen of death. Restarted and selected a different USB port on the front. Same thing. Started in Safe Mode with Networking and drive is recognized and I could copy to it. Tried plugging that same Lacie drive into a Win 7 Pro laptop and it is recognized and no problems.
Noticed that Windows Update has a download that won't install called:
Hewlett-Packard - USB - 40.13.1167.1948
Update type: Important
Hewlett-Packard USB driver update released in February 2019
Ideas would be welcome.
