Product: Z820
Operating System: Linux

Will a pair of e5-4650s work in a Z820?  The e5-46XXs are for quad socket servers, but the Z820 is dual socket. 

 

The 820 quick specs doc actually mentions the e5-46xx line but doesn't say whether it is compatiable.  It also mentions the 16xx series, but doesn't state compatibility.  The service manual doesn't list the e5-46xx as compatible, so so I'm wondering if anyone has tried it.
