HP Support Assistant keeps issuing an alert to install Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver sp95218. Upon rebooting the machine following the installation, I get an error "WIndows failed to start properly".  It offers an option to try and recover which I select and Windows does in fact recover and all is put back the way it was prior to the update.

Here's a screen shot of the Device Manager showing the USB configuration.

I've read that there may be a conflict between the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver and a generic Windows driver.  However, I do not know how to distinguish which Windows USB driver that may be and now to get rid of it or point the system to the Intel driver.

In any case this is like driving around with the "Check Engine Light" on because HP Support Assistant keeps the flag up to install this driver update.

TIA for any help.
