Operating System:- Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) fully up to date with Windows Update

 

HP Support reports that there is an HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors) available for my laptop, Softpaq Number: sp88923, BIOS Version: F.27 Rev.A

 

I have downloaded this BIOS update, however when I double click on the downloaded file to run it, the file extraction process takes place and then I am asked to connect the laptop to mains power and reboot.  The laptop then reboots but it does not flash the BIOS.

 

When I check the BIOS version using msinfo32 it is still version F.26

 

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.
