Back in 2019, it was asked if HP supported ECC in their Ryzen Pro mobile line. The answer was a simple no, as indicated by the service manual that lists only non-ECC RAM modules. Reviews indicate that AMD supports ECC on the Ryzen 7 Pro, but I suspect that there is at least a firmware component to this. Given that the hardware supports it, seems odd that HP wouldn't enable it.
There have been many firmware updates to the first-gen Ryzen Pro mobile line since then. For those that prefer the AMD ecosystem over the Intel ecosystem, has anyone tested the 1st gen Ryzen Pro line of mobile CPUs in HP Elitebooks (e.g. 745 G5) to see if ECC memory modules work (with ECC enabled)? It would be nice to get ECC support in something as thin and lightweight as the elitebook instead of having to buy a more expensive and heavier Zbook with a Xeon (and an inferior integrated GPU).
