HP Envy Laptop17m-cg0013dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone. My mother has an HP Envy 17m-cg0013dx that comes with Windows 10 (64-bit) installed. From what I'm aware of, I've been experiencing a blue screen error message every time when I put the laptop into sleep mode or closing the lid. About around a minute later, I opened the lid back up and the system restarted without any reason. In some instances, when I clicked on the Start menu, then clicked on the Power symbol and clicked Sleep under the power actions menu, or signing out, a Blue Screen error appears with a VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR message. Then, after the system restarted and booted successfully into Windows 10, I noticed that the NVIDIA GeForce MX330 GPU was disabled in Device Manager and the NVIDIA Control Panel icon is missing from the system tray. I restarted the laptop again, and after booting into Windows 10 for the second time, the computer detects the GeForce MX330 and the NVIDIA Control Panel icon started showing in the system tray. I also noticed that the power plans (HP Recommended, Power Saver, High Performance) in the power options menu did not appear except the Balanced power plan shows as the only option.

I viewed the MEMORY.DMP crash dump file and found that the dxgkrnl.sys image process was causing the blue screen problem resulting in the VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR error message leading up to an unexpected system restart when the computer was in Sleep mode or Hibernate mode while the lid is closed. This problem happens every time when I put the HP Envy 17m-cg0013dx to Hibernate mode or Sleep mode by closing the lid while powered on or plugged up, and I am having these problems since January 25, 2021. I reinstalled all NVIDIA GeForce MX330 drivers without a clean install, no effect. I don't experience any problems when I simply use the Windows 10 File Explorer or Zoom App or the Internet.

I have another problem was that I tried to put the laptop to sleep mode, the power light LED continues to lit despite the lid is closed and the screen is off when plugged into the outlet. Another problem I'm experiencing is that the fan spins loud due to the Intel Optane Memory Service process using around 25-30 percent of the CPU until the fan noise problem went away five or ten minutes later.

We are using Windows 10 version 20H2. I updated the NVIDIA drivers to the latest version (461.40) but rolled back to the previous version, updated Windows 10 with cumulative patches, no third-party antivirus software, no overclocking or other modifications, using only Windows Security and Windows Defender, still on warranty, and never had any factory resets. I don't know if this could be a software or hardware issue, and I am seeking help from anyone to resolve these problems before we send the HP Envy 17m-cg0013dx Notebook computer in for repairs by a professional. Are there any solutions to resolve these problems?
