DesignJet 500

This is a story rather than a question. I reinstalled Windows 10 after which I could not get my DJ 500 to print. It would print from an older laptop with Windows 10 on it but not from my main PC (reinstalled Windows 10) nor another laptop also with Windows 10.

I searched and search for a solution. I have spent the better part of a week on this. All to no avail.

Then today I reinstalled Windows 10 yet again to see if this would fix it. Of course not. How foolish to think something so simple would provide a cure.

Then, following yet another trawl of the internet I found this site - **bleep**- joy of joys so many drivers. And yes I found one, downloaded it to C:\users\(my name)\AppData\Local\Temp, and replaced the drive that Windows automatically finds and yes it worked! I can now print.

Only it didn't print my logo. Simple fix - Control panel - Printers- HP Design Jet 500 - See What's Printing - Printer - Printing defaults - Properties  - Services - Troubleshooting Menu - (deslect) Enable PoolSmart.
