Like many other users who subscribed to HP’s print cartridge scam, I was able to find a work around for when your printer becomes disabled.  I logged into HPSmart account to get my printers IP address, and then blocked this address from the internet under my router settings.  I pulled the plug on the printer for a couple of seconds, and was able to print using WiFi in my house.
